When I left school in 1969 I worked on the family farm for 12 months and then decided to join the Royal Australian Navy. I trained as a mechanical engineer and then retired from the Navy in 1993 as a Chief Petty Officer and returned to the family farm running beef cattle.
In 2000 I purchased a bench saw and planner/thicknesser with the intentions of doing woodcraft. The machines sat idle until 2011 when I cleared out the shearing shed. I removed all the shearing equipment and holding pens (except the wool table) and then set up my machine. Since then I have built more work benches and have slowly acquired more machines and hand tools to improve my work.
I mainly work with Jarrah and Sheoak but I also use Pine and Marri (Redgum). Most of the timber is from my 600 acre farm but I do locally source special timbers if required. For any custom requests or if you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me.
